As the war between Ukraine and Russia rages on, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has been providing Ukraine with military aid and supplies. However, this act prompted Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to accuse NATO, as well as the U.S in engaging in a proxy war with Russia. With the aid being provided to Ukraine, the U.S and NATO aim to weaken Russia's military; which will make the next few weeks of the war crucial for Ukraine and its allies.

April 19th, Washington Post columnist Taylor Lorenz published an article exposing the creator of the Libs of TikTok social media accounts; which promote anti-LGBTQ+ sentiments and have impacted right-wing media and anti-LGBTQ+ legislation. Due to the article exposing the creator's name, many conservatives have taken to Twitter to accuse Lorenz of doxxing the creator.

Starting on Monday, April 11th, a special schedule will be in place because of CAASP testing. While this schedule will only be in place on Tuesday and Wednesday, the later start time of 11:06 a.m. for 9th, 10th, and 12th graders are bound to confuse those who end up going to school at the regular start time of 8:57 a.m.

On March 8th, the Florida Senate passed a bill that's now been dubbed the "Don't Say Gay" bill which forbids discussions of sexual orientation and gender identity in elementary school classrooms. Critics of this bill have cited that this only serves to marginalize and harm LGBTQ+ youth. The bill has been met with fierce oppostion by Democrats and allies alike; and students in Florida have staged walkouts in response to the bill.

While diplomats are able to speak out against the violation of human rights taking place, athletes competing in the games aren't allowed to state their views on the topic, as per the rules of the Olympics state.

Several days ago musician Neil Young pulled his discography off of Spotify over the platform allowing misinformation on COVID-19 and the vaccine. There have been many podcasts peddling these false claims- specifically Joe Rogan's podcast which many health professionals have asserted to be harmful in the long run. So far Spotify has no plans on removing Joe Rogan's podcast despite the backlash they've received.
