[media-credit id=15 align=”aligncenter” width=”200″][/media-credit]Homecoming week brought out the spirit in many Scots this week.
On Monday, Giants was the theme of the day with Lincecum, Wilson, and Sandoval lookalikes roaming the hallways.
Tie Dye Tuesday consisted of classic tie dye shirts, socks, and even a few pajama pants.
Carlmont took a trip into the past on Wednesday when students came to school wearing leg warmers, sweatbands, and spandex for 80s day.
Thursday seemed like the most popular spirit day due to the classes swarming with superheroes.
And finally, today we showed our ultimate school spirit with Scots Day, wearing Screaming Scots apparel and all things blue, which was perfectly timed for the annual Homecoming football game.
Although these were all exciting and uniting spirit days, many students are wondering where the days when each class wore clothes for different themes went.
In previous years, some sophomores wore army apparel while seniors wore 80s themed clothing, and the freshman and juniors also had separate themes to show off.
However the keyword here is “separate.”
The point of spirit days is to unite our school and its students, not single out different groups within it.
This is exactly what different themes for each class does, separate.
Therefore I am glad ASB has done away with the sectioned spirit days. Due to their decision I feel that Carlmont is more unified, and a more spirited school altogether during Homecoming week.
