Tpumps, a small but popular boba tea joint on South B Street in downtown San Mateo, is creating a new hype is spreading throughout San Mateo County.

The average tab is three dollars per drink, with a choice of many different flavors. Customers may choose to have a tea, milk tea, or a smoothie and how sweet they want it. They may also choose if they want green tea or black tea and whether or not they want boba. The variety suits every type of customer and pleases them as well.

In my experience, my friend and I ordered one smoothie and one milk tea to compare the two. The smoothie was creamy and full of flavor and the milk tea was silky smooth as well as refreshing, not to mention the boba was at perfect temperature and texture.

“I love it because it is different from the chain boba shops and it tastes more like they made each one with care for each customer. My favorite drink is the strawberry milk tea because it tastes amazing and it is unique. I started coming here a few months ago and ever since, it has been packed with teenagers and adults wanting to try it!” commented a Tpumps customer.

The only negative aspect of the shop is the often long line and the fact that it is not a place to stay after one has gotten his or her order. Normally, due to its new found fame, there is a line leading out the door in wait for the well priced and delicious tapioca drink.

There is no seating indoor or outdoor, so it more of a “fast drink” type of place. On weekends, the line may take 15-20 minutes to get by, but there is almost always a nice employee serving samples to those waiting in temptation.

Tpumps has great service, refreshing drinks, scrumptious boba, and a diverse menu that will make any customer happy. With low prices and popularity growing, it is guaranteed it will be a hit for years to come.
