If a student at Carlmont is asked whether they knew who Dana Carvey is, they may simply reply with “who is Dana Carvey?”
Unlike their parents, students around Carlmont do not know who Dana Carvey is. For those who don’t know, Dana Carvey, an Emmy award winning actor from Saturday Night Live, was once a student at Carlmont High School.
“I don’t know who he is,” said Billy Tabakis, a current Carlmont student. “I think it is pretty cool that someone like Dana Carvey came to our school. I would want to meet him if he was in town.”
When Carvey was a young boy, he and is family moved from Missoula, Montana to San Carlos. As years went by, Carvey attended Tierra Linda Middle School, and eventually came to Carlmont. While Carvey was attending Carlmont, he made the people around him laugh at his jokes. On top of that, he was a member of Carlmont’s cross country team.

After he graduated from Carlmont, Carvey moved to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career. He gained a small role in the movie Halloween II and starred on a short lived television sitcom called Blue Thunder.
Connor Moore is one of the students who knows about Dana Carvey, “I think he’s very funny. People around Carlmont should learn more about him,but not only because he came here. Carlmont students should learn more about him because he’s funny.”
A few years passed and he became a member of Saturday Night Live in 1986. He became well known for his roles such as The Church Lady, as shown in the video above, and Garth Algar in the Wayne’s World sketch.
For those who don’t know about Carlmont’s famous alumni, he or she should consider watching his Saturday Night Live sketches.
