President Biden, Vice President Harris, and the U.S. Department of Education recently passed the Biden Administration’s Student Loan Debt Relief Plan. The plan forgives up to $10,000 in debt cancellation to those whose loans are held by the Department of Education and up to $20,000 for Pell Grant recipients. To be eligible for debt cancellation, borrowers must have an individual income of less than $125,000 or $250,000 per household. However, Biden’s Student Loan Debt Relief fails to address larger root issues; such as the high college tuition prices rising 180% since 1980.(Emma Yin)
