Taking a gap year, working and getting real-life experience, or going to a community college are all solid and successful options.

Due to this disparity, colleges have turned to test-optional policies, and more and more students are choosing to opt out of submitting test scores. However, new studies show that SAT scores do not hurt diversity. For some, the SAT is a crucial stepping stone out of poverty and into the world of higher education. The SAT shows trends in intelligence and hard work, helping predict where students success in college. The SAT is less about how much money you spend and more a reflection of your effort and character and should remain a factor in the college selection process.

The ban offers Tiktoks Chinese owner, Bytedance, to either sell the app or have it banned.

Cartoon: Record California heat

Mid-October heat in the Bay Area broke records this past week. San Jose beat a 110-year record, while Richmond set a new minimum temperature bar at just 62 degrees Fahrenheit. Climate Central’s climate shift index map indicated that the heat was caused by global warming–a warning to all of us what might happen in the future if we don’t take action against climate change.
