The Lady Scots varsity soccer team ended their roller coaster season with a overtime loss to Gunn high school in the first round of Division I Central Coast Section play.
It was a defensive battle between the two teams and neither team could find the back of the net. The Lady Scots had a strong performance by their back line of defense, but the offense was no where to be found.
This defensive battle looked like it was heading into a penalty shootout but in the last minute of overtime, the host Gunn high school had a break away and capitalized on this chance which were found to be few and far between.
Although the Lady Scots ended their season with a sour taste in their mouths, they should be proud of their performance this season. They overcame many obstacles over the course of the season including player suspensions, many tough losses, and had to compete in a tough Peninsula Bay Division.
The Lady Scots will return next season with a lot of young talent, and look to avenge some of this season’s disappointments.
