The Lady Scots softball team played their second scrimmage of the season on Wednesday, and easily defeated Woodside.
The first scrimmage of the year was at home versus Mitty, and Carlmont looked a bit shaky. However, they worked out all the kinks and looked very impressive at Woodside.
The Scots pitched a shutout through eight unofficial innings, while their offense produced as well. Junior Aurora Stottler was the starting pitcher, and pitched two scoreless innings. Freshmen Danielle Giuliacci and Rebecca Faulkner came in as relievers, with the same success.
Giuliacci and Faulkner made their second appearances of the season, after their high school debut last week versus Mitty. Giuliacci looked like she had years of experience under her belt, throwing seven strikeouts in just three innings. Faulkner didn’t let up after replacing Giuliacci in the 6th, pitching three more shutout innings.
The girls’ team got the job done offensively as well, scoring seven runs. Senior Megan Hansen led the way with a two-run home run and a double later in the game.
Carlmont plays in their first official preseason game on Friday, Mar. 4 at home versus Wilcox. Come out and support your Lady Scots!
