Amidst class registration, students are under pressure to stack advanced classes in their schedules for the next year. These pressures may be employed by either parents, piers, or oneself to do the most. 
Advanced Placement classes show admissions officers that you're ready for college-level work, and help improve your transcript. However, pushing oneself past their limits can result in major stress, and can negatively impact their mental health.
