Cartoon: Causes of neurobiological differences between black and white children

A recent psychological study explores neurobiological differences between black and white children ages 9 to 10. Surveys and brain scans reflect differences in white children having more grey matter in the amygdala, prefrontal cortex, and hippocampus than Black children. These developmental differences have been connected to marital hardship, neighborhood disadvantages, and trauma history that continue to create greater burdens for black children. (Phie Wei)
