Miley Cyrus’s new emotional ballad has caused controversy and raised many opinions of people worldwide, especially after her appearance on the VMAs.
The ‘We Can’t Stop’ vocalist has left an impression, after being idolized by many preteens. Her recent jeopardous actions are being watched throughout the world. The exhibition of sensual actions carried out include inappropriate dancing while using a foam finger as a prop.
In the music video to her new single, ‘Wrecking Ball,’ 20 year old Cyrus is shown, in parts, fully naked while carrying out provocative actions. These actions are being criticized for being inappropriate for her fan base, mostly consisting of young, pre-teen people and children. However, Cyrus’s song is No. 1 on iTunes and has received a review of three stars.
“Don’t you ever say I just walked away / I will always want you,” Cyrus sings, while a tear rolls down her face with a sledgehammer in hand. Her sentimental lyrics have been associated with her recent break-up from actor Liam Hemsworth.
It is clearly portrayed that Cyrus wants to display her rebellious side in which she exposes in her music video with the aspects of her partial and complete nudity and the destruction of the set.
Critics are questioning how ethical the explicit music video is since most of her fans are adolescents and children.
Cyrus’s new upcoming album ‘Bangerz’ is due to be released on Oct. 4. The title of this album already is speaking to her more erotic side and leaving fans curious.
Music plays a huge role in the everyday life of teenagers and it is perspicuous that music videos like these affect them, so artists should take into their account how their songs and videos will initially influence their audience.
