Cartoon: Don Lemon’s fall from CNN

Prominent CNN anchor Don Lemon received an unpleasant reminder of an offensive comment he made in February 2023. Lemon had responded to a statement made by presidential candidate Nikki Haley about President Joe Biden’s age, saying, “Nikki Haley isn’t in her prime, sorry! A woman is considered to be in her prime in her 20s, 30s, and maybe 40s.” The resulting backlash eventually culminated in his expulsion from his position at the news outlet on April 24. A shared experience for all other public figures, Lemon cannot expect to face anything but negative consequences for failing to watch his words. (Andrew Shu)
