Cartoon: Hands Off The Hijab

The secularist debate and its extremes have been going on for years in France. However, recently, the French Senate passed an amendment forbidding girls under 18 from wearing hijabs. While nothing is in place yet, this act would strip Muslim girls of their privacy and form of expression. (Brynn Toomasson)

Brynn Tomasson is a sophomore at Carlmont High School and in her first year in the Media Arts/Journalism program. She is interested in journalism because it's a way of telling the truth and expressing culture.
