Cartoon: Surplus rain brings superbloom

Due to excess rain in California this year, colorful wildflower seeds will bloom simultaneously throughout California, creating a super bloom. Super blooms are a rare botanical phenomenon in which an unusually high proportion of wildflowers blossom at roughly the same time, usually due to usually high amounts of rain, which allows dormant wildflower seeds to germinate. Some of the best places to see this year’s super bloom are Lassen Volcanic National Park and Mount Diablo State Park. (Emma Yin)
