Raizy and Nathan Glauber, both 21, were riding in a cab on Mar. 3, 2013 in Brooklyn when another crashed into the cab at an intersection.
The driver was rushed to the hospital while the two occupants of the car fled.
“The fact that the two occupants just fled like that from the scene is really bizarre because not only did they cost the lives of two soon to be parents but almost their child as well,” said sophomore Adelyn Yae.
The Glaubers were soon pronounced dead at two different hospitals after the crash but with the help of Bellevue Hospital a C-section was performed to rescue the baby after Raizy Glauber had passed.
“I feel very sorry for this family they didn’t have any opportunity to even meet their baby boy. Also they have been only married for less than a year which means they didn’t have that much time to spend together as a family,” said Yau
The young couple were Orthodox Jews and a funeral was planned for them later that Sunday evening.
The baby boy died shortly after due to being extremely premature.
