Cartoon: Kicking for equal pay

With women receiving less than a third of their male counterparts, the World Cup pay gap has historically been extremely unfair. Last May, the US Soccer Federation announced that they would pool the money from world cup winnings between the men’s and women’s teams and split them evenly. With the Women’s World Cup coming up this summer, equal pay for the US teams is a big step toward gender equality in sports. (Shiyo Ohashi)
