Ukrainian troops have been liberating Russian-occupied towns, reclaiming about 3,090 square miles in the 29th week of the war and liberating multiple cities such as Balakliya, Kupyansk, and Izium, a city on major supply routes, suggesting that Ukraine may reclaim its 2014 borders. In addition, these victories have convinced Ukraine’s allies to send much-needed tanks and supplies. Ukrainian president President Volodymyr Zelenskyy predicts that the “entire Donetsk region will be liberated.” Ukrainian victories have also caused Russia to admit defeat on September 13th, a major turning point for the underdog of the Russo-Ukrainian War.
