Carlmont staff members Dave Gomez, Cindy Shusterman, and Jerome Harris are part of the Smokin’ Slice of Mojo band. They play a variety of music, from classic rock to Motown. The members spend time practicing and performing all over the Bay Area to continue their lifelong hobby of playing music.

Phoebe Gulsen, ScotCenter Editor-in-Chief
Phoebe Gulsen is a senior and is Editor-in-Chief of the Carlmont Journalism Scotcenter program. She produces mainly human interest and social justice videos, in hopes of providing a deeper story through local news. Gulsen is a graduate of the 2021 Boston University Summer Journalism Institute and over the past three years, has earned national and international awards for her work. She takes part in several extra-curricular activities, including advanced choir, varsity lacrosse, and philanthropy work through National Charity League.
