Head coach Margaret Goldsmith talks with the team before they play their matches. During this time, the coaches reviewed what the girls should focus on during their matches, allowing them to remember and implement aspects of the game they have been working on in practice. "I think the girls work really hard off-season. They've been focused on tennis and improving their skills, coming back faster and better than last year," Goldsmith said.
The Carlmont varsity girls tennis team won by a landslide against the San Mateo Bearcats 6-1.
Throughout the matches, the girls remained mentally focused and stayed consistent with their strokes, allowing them to outlast their opponents in many rallies. The combination of mental fortitude and consistency in their playing has allowed them to win all their games this season, upholding their undefeated record.
The strong momentum the Scots are picking up, along with the title they earned in last year’s season as undefeated champions, is a promising precedent for this year’s season.
